ARC-TO Brings African Vibes to OGAV in Support of Girls Futures.

Updated: Jul 22

ARC-TO at OGAV: Celebrating Culture and Empowering Girls Through Education.

At ARC-TO (Africa Resource Center – Toronto), our mission goes beyond promoting African culture—it’s about building community, creating impact, and empowering the next generation. That’s why we were proud to be part of the OGAV (Our Girl, Our Value) event, an inspiring initiative dedicated to supporting and promoting girls’ education on June 27, 2025.

Held in a vibrant and welcoming atmosphere, the OGAV event brought together changemakers, advocates, and cultural influencers all united for a common cause: uplifting and empowering girls through education. ARC-TO joined this noble mission by contributing in the way we know best—through culture, creativity, and community connection.

What We Brought to the Table?

ARC-TO had the pleasure of donating African-themed items, sharing traditional games, and setting up a vibrant showcase of African clothing and accessories. Our booth wasn’t just a display—it was a celebration. From playful card games to engaging cultural conversations, we welcomed attendees into the richness of African heritage.

We also used the opportunity to spark dialogue about how culture and education go hand-in-hand. Many young women stopped by to try on African outfits, participate in the games, and learn about the stories behind our designs. It was more than fun—it was meaningful connection.

Why OGAV Matters?

Girls’ education is a cause that cannot be overlooked. OGAV is doing critical work by advocating for access, equality, and empowerment in education. As an organization rooted in cultural pride and community upliftment, ARC-TO stands in full support of this vision. Every girl deserves the chance to learn, grow, and lead—and we’re committed to being part of that journey.
